TI Series

Modified Harmer Wynne Astrograph

How It is born

The TI Series Astrographs optical design is derived from the Harmer–Wynne configuration (first introduced and published in 1976 in the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society, vol. 177, Oct. 1976). Compared to “standard” Harmer–Wynne instruments, TI has introduced an additional refractive element in the corrector, allowing the design to achieve a very wide corrected field over a broad wavelength range. These performance levels can be easily maintained even in very fast optical systems, down to f/3.

TIn Series

Super Fast Hyperbolic Newton  Astrograph

How It is born

The TIn Series Astrograph has been designed to meet all the requirements of ultra-fast imaging systems, aiming to surpass every record in hourly production rate. It is particularly well-suited for applications where maximizing results is crucial, covering the largest possible sky area in the shortest time — making it ideal for all SSA operations. It is also highly effective in rental systems, where achieving the highest number of frames per hour is essential. Its special optical configuration provides unmatched performance for such fast aperture ratios.

TI WPF Series

Wynne Prime Focus  Astrograph

How It is born

The TI WPF Series Astrograph has been designed to meet all the requirements of super‑fast, large‑aperture imaging systems. Thanks to a specially designed large Wynne corrector, it achieves an impressive f/2.6 focal ratio with excellent field correction and coverage. The optical design ensures very low obstruction and easy collimation thanks to the limited number of optical elements. The WPF Astrograph delivers a very high hourly imaging throughput, making it particularly well‑suited for covering the largest possible sky area in the shortest time — ideal for all SSA operations. It is also highly effective in rental or remote‑hosting systems, where achieving the highest number of frames per hour is essential. Combined with our Compact Filter Wheel 508 (8 × 50×50 mm filters), this astrograph becomes the optimal solution for remote observatories.

The models

  • TI WPF 45:
    • Clear Aperture: 450 mm
    • Focal Length: 1170 mm
    •  f/2.6 – Obstruction: 42%
  • TI WPF 55:
    • Clear Aperture: 550 mm
    • Focal Length: 1450 mm
    •  f/2.6 – Obstruction: 35%
